Resources for HPV Education & Communication

FAQs on HPV screening for cervical cancer: This useful list of common questions about HPV, HPV testing, and positive HPV results was created by the HPV FOCAL Study, and is endorsed by the BC Cancer, Cervical Cancer Screening Program.

Counselling Patients about HPV Test Results: Aimed primarily at care providers, this comprehensive document was developed by the International Centre for Infectious Dieseases (ICID) as a resource for professionals when discussing HPV, prevention, diagnosis and treatment with patients. The document was co-authored by members of our Team.

Other useful resources

The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) developed the HPV and Cervical Cancer Curriculum, an e-learning tool designed to improve knowledge. This global membership organization is also very active in advocacy, capacity-building and events.

The World Health Organization (WHO) offers global guidelines, reports and other resources on sexual and reproductive health including Comprehensive Cervical Cancer Control.

The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist of Canada (SOGC) produces National clinical guidelines for cervical cancer screening, and is a leading authority on sexual & reproductive health.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) publish relevant information, statistics and research on HPV and cervical cancer for the United States, but also globally
